I have worked in restaurants and some have signs posted “We have the right to refuse service.” One man kept coming into my mother’s restaurant, messing up a bunch of different tables and never ordering anything but coffee. My mother banned him from the place for which he began a picket protest with signs saying she was racist. This was idiotic because most of her customers were members of his race. Private establishments do have the right to refuse service but your point is well taken. There is a double standard. If a white man refused service to someone other than his own race, the government would be all over him but if a non-white did the same to a white customer it would barely raise a peep.
