Never forget to thank your local gestapo for saving you from yourself. One man sends his thanks via letter to the editor:
I would just like to thank the officer who pulled me over after I missed my exit off of U.S. Highway 75 south at Spring Creek Parkway this morning.
As I had to travel all the way down to Parker Road, do the loop around and get back on the service road going north, I made the terrible decision to go 59 mph on a completely empty service road that had a posted limit of 45 mph.
Meanwhile, the overcrowded traffic on Highway 75 continued in front of us to travel along at the blistering 20-plus miles over the posted limit.
No problem. I’ll just take the $200 out of my gas budget to pay for the well-deserved citation. Just as the officer thanked me for my courtesy, I would in turn like to thank him for showing me the error of my criminal ways. Oh, and also for ruining my day.
Speeding tickets have much more to do with revenue generation than anything else.
