Libertarian Party is NO MORE. ( 1971 – 2008 )
Bob Barr – Conservative Republican selected as Libertarian candidate for President.
After entering the House of Representatives in 1995, Georgia Republican Bob Barr acquired a reputation as one of the most conservative members of Congress.
A former federal prosecutor, a firm social conservative, and a strong supporter of the War on Drugs, Barr is by no means a Libertarian.
Bob Barr voted FOR the Patriot Act.
In 2002 Barr voted for the war in Iraq.
From 1970 to 1978, Barr was employed by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
In 2002, the Libertarian Party seized on the opportunity to oust one of the federal drug war’s most vocal proponents (Barr), and ran TV ads criticizing Barr’s opposition to medical marijuana.
And now after fighting him, the Libertarian Party selects him as their candidate for President?!
Watching the Libertarian Party Convention this past weekend on CSPAN, it looked like a convention of liberal democrats choosing which conservative republican would be their best candidate.
