Rachel Maddow attacked neocon-Rand on her propaganda show tonight. Maddow was throwing a hissy-fit over Rand’s correct position that the government has no authority to force private businesses not to discriminate based on race (or anything for that matter).
Indeed private businesses, organizations and individuals should be able to create rules for or refuse service to whomever they choose. That includes allowing or refusing service to those that are white, black, brown, gay, straight, handicapped, obese, retarded, cross dressing, transsexual or whatever type of irrelevant characteristic you can conjure up. Not only that but they should be able to allow or refuse smoking, guns, dogs, drugs or anything else on their private property. At the same time, all competing businesses should have the right to do the exact opposite to attract those that don’t approve. If the offending business can’t attract enough customers, then they go out of business. That is how freedom works. Maddow can’t seem to fathom anything other than the use of violence (government) to force her subjective views on everyone else. What an evil excuse for a human being.
Although Maddow thinks she is taking the high road, she fails to address that many minority groups are NOT covered by the Civil Rights Act. I guess only those that the state, and Maddow, deems worthy are those that may receive “equal rights”.

I must respectfully disagree with the idea that the rights of a potential person (an unborn child) supercede those of an actual living person.
Certainly I find nothing in the Constitution to suggest such a thing.
Logically speaking, you can’t kill someone who’s not alive and you’re not alive until you’ve been born.
That seems prima facie to me.
The burden of proof falls upon those who would maintain otherwise.

It seems to me that Rachel Maddow did a helluva job trying to brand Rand Paul as a racist last night. She tried even harder tonight and even pulled the anti-semite card on him as well. I thought that Paul responded to the issue appropriately and didn’t flip flop. He has said exactly the same thing multiple times in the past. I have to give him credit for going on Maddow’s show having to know what he would be facing.
Her arguement is disingenuous at best; Paul is correct when he states that businesses should have a right to choose their clientele or decide what activities can take place on their property. He has also stated that these issues have already been legally resolved by the Congress and Supreme Court long ago. I wish that people would understand that we live in a corporatocracy and although racism is still alive and well in America, the issue today is really about profit. Minorities now make up a significant percentage of the population and cannot be ignored simply because of the profits that can be generated from them. Any company today that would attempt this type of discrimmination would most likely face bancruptcy in a short period of time.
But to show explicit 60′s racist images and constantly flash Rand’s picture and mention his name for fifteen minutes is over the top. Maddow has shown her true colors; she is nothing but the liberal version of Hannity and Limbaugh. The truth of the matter is that MSNBC and its benefactors are obviously scared of Paul and will do whatever it takes to malign him as a senatorial candidate. Don’t be fooled….its all about maintaining the political status quo. Such a shame this country doesn’t even have a network that IS actually fair and balanced.

disinter, yesterday brought a storm of hits on my post – partly from your links to it, here & on other posts. A significant number of folks had difficulty determining that ‘Dr. Rand Paul, Civil Rights Patriot’ is parody.
The post gives voice to Paul’s argument (he refuses to be as explicit) and reveals it as an absurdity. For example, “…their economic influence guaranteed that they would be served equitably by businesses.” It did not. Also, “They would also not have had to fear a repeat of such injustice as the 1906 lynchings…”. But they did. The economic system that created slavery offered no protection from either inconvenience or terror.
The punchline, reserved for those who didn’t catch the subtlety of the preceding absurdities, is “That’s real white of you.” Unfortunately, it is. Those who don’t know the significance of this phrase are encouraged to learn what daily life was like in a society which tolerated institutional racism at many levels.
Poe’s Law has thus been demonstrated again:
