Disinter:What could also be said that while Tom DeLay reluctantly
indicated he would support McCain, his own wife openly said she would support Barr. On Huffingtonpost I have also read of Hillary Clinton liberal supporters that say they will vote for Barr: they say both parties have taken too much civil liberties and rights away.

Please listen to this interactive conversation between liberal Democrat Jane Hamsher and Bob Barr, about the FISA bill especially, but also many other interesting and important things. The advantage is you can see Barr's non-verbal reaction and his face and can see he is serious. Good news is also that she will with her friends cooperate with Barr and also see to it how they can help Barr to be part of the presidential debates.

(Note I am happy and cannot help smiling when Eric defends and works for Barr, while Barr's position is now essentially/mostly the same as Pau;'s AND because Barr is trashing Bush - Eric's hero - strongly and openly. Talk about irony! We may be winning arguments...:-)

What is with this site? It's like the all "I hate Bob" all the time channel. Do you have a viable alternative we should know about? I personally like everything I've heard from Barr, but your motivation is beyond me. Obama is my worst nightmare, and McCain is a buffoon. Almost nobody gets exactly what they want in presidential politics; if you can get 80-90%, you should be pretty happy.

It's incredibly ironic that some of the same people who passionately back Ron Paul, at the same time bash Tom DeLay. Their voting records are quite similar. Paul and DeLay worked on legislation together on numerous occasions while serving in Congress. They are quite close as friends, as well.

Ron Paul and Tom DeLay are very Texas Republican. Though, both have an independent somewhat quirky streak. Which is why they are both so close.

And what's so bad about him supporting DeLay? Remember, Ron Paul owes his election to the US Congress (in 1996) to Congressman DeLay. Without DeLay's help in the first '96 race, and all the money DeLay poured into Paul's campaign coffers, not too mention the numerous fundraising events DeLay appeared at for Paul in the Houston area, there's no way Paul would have won that election.

Recall, the final vote tally for the general election match-up Paul vs. Dem Lefty Morris was 51% to 48%. Razor thin win.
