Boris Johnson describes his ideology:
“I’m a libertarian. I think people should get on and run their lives as far as possible independently of bossiness and intrusion of all kinds.”
Eric Garris reports:
Johnson is not a neocon. In fact, he comes from the same sort of paleo-conservative roots as Pat Buchanan. He is opposed to British imperial dreams, and is in direct conflict with much of the UK Conservative Party.
In the last few years, he has been a strong opponent of the Iraq War, the rush to war with Iran, and Blair’s crackdown on civil liberties.
More on Johnson’s anti-war stance here. More on his victory here. Lew Rockwell comments here.

Great news indeed. This is really huge news and a very bitter pill to swallow for the Eric Dondero’s of the world. Of course, Johnson or any Tory candidate would not have had a snowball’s chance of winning if he had been pro-Iraq war.
great news indeed. I’m delighted that London has a Libertarian mayor
